In my final year of studying to become a psychotherapist. I combine two trainings, a training in counselling psychotherapy to earn the title, Prof. Dip Psy C and a MSc in Clinical Psychology.

My first career was working with gifted children and their parents. This included a lot of pioneer work first as gifted children coordinator for Mensa Denmark and founding the Danish national Gifted Children Association, since as the leader of an independent school for gifted children, and finally as
conference manager for the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children’s world conference in Odense, Denmark.

The second career was in yoga where I am specialized in yin yoga and TCM (traditional Chinese medicine). This was going to be my last career, but having just opened my own yoga studio two months prior to the first COVID lockdown it became so stressful, and I lost the passion for teaching.
The extensive experience in working with parents of gifted children and my years as a teacher for adults, I am now converting and combining with my studies into being a therapist specializing in gifted adults.

I use the pluralistic approach, seeing the client as an expert in his/her own life and me as a collaborative sparring partner. Sometimes able to offer an aspect of psychoeducation. When relevant I use the TCM understanding of balance, especially for clients dealing with stress.

I offer sessions in both Danish or English.

  • I have worked closely with Dr Anderson for a number of years in different therapeutic contexts. We have shared clients and group therapeutic work as well as organisational tasks. I can recommend with full confidence her professionalism, skill and caring. She has consistently proven to understand the needs of her clients as well as effective directions for treatment. In addition to her work with a broad range of psychological conditions, we have participated in Mentalisation training, supervision and programme delivery together confirming her expertise in working with people struggling with disorders of personality.

  • Dr. Alecia was brilliant from day one. She made me feel very comfortable and was able to understand me and my needs very quickly. I’ve seen progress from the first session and I have breakthroughs pretty much in every session. Each session feels like a safe space and I can’t imagine not going to these sessions because they have improved my life considerably.
